The Rohingya, Thailand and ASEAN

With no fanfare, an article in the Bangkok Post of 28th January, 2009 reported that the Thai Navy handed the latest batch of 78 Rohingya refugees over to the Ranong Police, who would refer them to the Immigration Authorities.
That the military apparently is no longer directly responsible for handling boat people is a telling concession, [...]
